Menopause

Menopause is a process that all women experience later on in life. It marks the end of one's menstrual cycle and is diagnosed when a woman doesn't menstruate for a year. Usually, women between the ages of 40-50 undergo menopause.

What are the symptoms of menopause?

Menopause brings about various symptoms, some of which are short-term and others long-term. The most common symptoms include hot flashes, mood swings and weight gain.

Other symptoms to note include:

  • Vaginal dryness
  • Reduced libido
  • Anxiety
  • Urinary incontinence

What happens during menopause?

Menopause happens in three stages: perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause. The onset of perimenopause means menstrual periods are irregular, and bleeding can either be too heavy or light at this stage before it stops completely.
